Essusa me, canna I take yo pichar?

This morning is was so cold and I swear on my way to work I hit every red light! Pretty much annoying... Other than being practically late for work this morning, my day was pretty uneventful...That was until two white women with nine teenage Japanese girls in tow, walked into the store. All four of us were kneading bread so Dominique and Daniela went to help them while Harmony and myself continued cutting and kneading the bread. Harm and I are behind the front counter, working and talking when all of a sudden 2 teenage asian girls are standing at the end of the table... "Escusa, canna I take yo pichar?" one of them says to us... "Uh sure.." we replied and went back to work as more of the girls rushed to join the first two. Some of the girls asked questions like "Ahow meny of de lovahs do yo maka eacha day?" and "Ohhh, do yo lie yo job?". When I had to use the bowl lift to dump about 35lbs of white bread dough onto the kneading table all of the girls rushed fully into the work area behind the front counter and all I could her was the clicking of digital cameras and mumbling in Japanese.


My favorite part though I think is when I cut the first hunk of dough and threw it to the other end of the kneading table and all nine girls went "Oooooo!" completely in unisen. It's great, I've never been a tourist attraction before. I guess I just always assumed they had bakeries in Japan... guess not. :-P And like I told the girls at the store when our adoring Japanese fans departed. "We're totally gonna end up on some Japanese version of MySpace under album named "My Trip To AMERICA!"."
